    New York: Appleton, 1905. Hardcover first edition - A romantic novel by the writer perhaps best known for his early supernatural fiction "The King in Yellow." Lovecraft described Chambers as "equipped with the right brains and education but wholly out of the habit of using them" but these later novels did give him one of the most successful literary careers of the period. A handsomely produced book with four full page color illustrations, two each by J.C. Leyendecker and Karl Anderson and numerous art noveau textural illustrations by Arthur C. Becker. xii, 142 pp. Publisher's green patterened cloth with color illustration on front cover. A very nice copy of a very handsome book. 142 p

    Condition: Very good in light green ribbed cloth with a pasted on illustration on the front cover, lettering in gilt (cocked spine, bookplate.)
