Hardcover - A charming little book about a hungry bear and his friends the farm animals, written and illustrated by Johnny Gruelle (author of the Raggedy Ann stories) both in full color and in black and white drawings. Small format, measuring just 6 inches wide by 7 1/2 inches tall, unpaginated.
Condition: Very good in red-orange boards with black lettering and illustrations in a fair dustjacket (a few spots to the covers, and edgetears to a couple of pages, but otherwise a clean copy, the fragile and rather uncommon dust jacket is quite chipped and edgeworn with some loss at the ends of the spine and all corners, but it still bright and appealing.)

New York: Platt & Munk Company, 1954. dj. Hardcover first edition - Interesting stories about the different farm animals, illustrated in color by Wesley Dennis. A large format, deluxe edition, bound in orange cloth with an illustrated front cover, printed on high quality glossy paper. Very uncommon in dustjacket, and although the dj has some tears and some loss of paper on the ends of the spine, it has protected the book so the covers are still bright and beautiful. (the same painting of two horses' heads is on both the cover and the dustjacket.)
Condition: Fine in good only dust jacket. (pc, inscription on both the dj flap and book, wear to dj.)
