    New York: Grosset & Dunlap, (c 1924.) dj. Hardcover - After serving as a doughboy in the Great War, Tom Slade, Boy Scout is back at the old campground at Black Lake. Illustrated by Howard L. Hastings with a glossy frontispiece and 3 glossy internal plates. Notation on title page that this was 'published with the approval of the Boy Scouts of America.' 235 pp plus 4 pp advertisements. Lists through #14 in back of book. Bound in olive green cloth with black lettering on spine and brown lettering outlined in black on front. Photographic endpapers. Illustrated dustwrapper with wraparound green band at top and bottom with title and author in yellow lettering.

    Condition: Good overall in a good dust jacket (gift inscription dated in 1926, some chipping to all edges of dj, including loss of up to 1 cm at top of spine, wear at folds and discoloration at lower edge of front cover near the spine, affecting the book slightly.) Despite the flaws this is quite uncommon in dj.
