Edgar & Anthony Award Winning Mystery Novels

The Edgar Awards (named after Edgar Allen Poe, of course, the father of the American detective story) are  widely considered  the most prestigious awards given to US mystery, detective or suspense fiction. They are selected by The Mystery Writers of America in the spring of each year, and are given in two categories – for first novel and best novel.   The Anthony awards are presented at the Boucherson World Mystery Convention in the fall of each year – both the awards and the convention are named after Anthony Boucher (William Anthony Parker White, 1911-1968), one of the founders of the Mystery Writers  of America.
