The girls try to discover buried treasure and wind up investigating the disappearance of a ship's captain on the eastern shore of Maryland, set against the backdrop of Chincoteague Island, with its wild ponies, Dark green and white "flashlight" illustrated endpapers, light green topstain, plain frontispiece.
