New York: Ballantine, (c 1958, ca 1982.) dj. Hardcover - Considered Blish's best novel, this was the winner of the 1959 Hugo award and included in Pringle's "Science Fiction: The 100 Best Novels." Part of the "After Such Knowledge" trilogy, this is the story of a Jesuit priest on an idylic planet inhabited by an alien race, both ethically and socially advanced - but a race governed by reason, not faith. Originally issued as a paperback original, this early book club edition is a handsome and reasonably priced hardcover alternative.
