Robertson's father was a sea captain on the Great Lakes and Morgan went to sea as a boy, and so writing about the sea came naturally to him. Robertson is perhaps best known for his short novel "Futility, or the Wreck of the Titan"", first published in 1898 which features a British passenger liner deemed to be unsinkable, and carrying an insufficient number of lifeboats. The Titan hits an iceberg and sinks in the North Atlantic, resulting in the loss of almost everyone on board. Illustrated with a frontispiece and three internal plates on glossy stock.
