Hardcover - An interesting series written for older girls, featuring Polly Brewster, who grew up on a ranch in Colorado, and her friend Eleanor Maynard, but who are now far removed from their roots. Only includes 6 previous titles on title page. While this is almost a travelogue, with a minimal plot, and the comments on what they find is often prejudiced, this book does includes a look at the effects of earthquakes and tsumanis, and an interesting glimpse of nitrate mining in the Bolivian coastal region of Antofagasta. Illustrated with a glossy frontispiece and three inserted plates by H.S. Barbour. 280 pp.
Condition: Very good overall in blue cloth with yellow and dark blue lettering (slight spine slant, minor wear) , no dj.
