Boston: Little Brown, (c 1902). Hardcover - The fourth title in the Teddy Books series - the story of a 15 year old girl's effort to help her older brother support a family of five. At the time when these books first appeared, Anna Chapin Ray was compared to Louisa May Alcott in her understanding of young people. Illustrated by Ellen Bernhard Thompson with a frontispiece with a tissue guard and five inserted glossy plates. Although this only shows the copyright date of 1902, the ads list through the sixth Sidney book (1910) 289 pp plus 2 pp publisher's ads.
Condition: Very good minus in illustrated boards - some rubbing and wear to the covers, but overall a tight and clean copy of a rather hard to find book.
