Gaye, a rather prolific author, is best known for her books on nature, and much of this book is an account of the "little Cockney" learning about the wonders around her. Illustrated with a full color frontispiece and half title page. The title page only indicates S. G. as the author, but Selina Gaye appears in full on the spine. 187 pp plus 4 pp publisher's ads.

    Condition: Very good overall in dark green boards with illustrations on the front cover and spine, lettering in gilt (offsetting to endpapers, a bit of very light scattered foxing, some wear to the corners and edges of the boards. Uncommon.

    Condition: Very good condition - better than average for a children's book of this vintage - in dark green cloth with gilt lettering and a multi-colored illustration on the front cover. Binding is cracking before the title page, and the frontispiece is missing (all of the other illustrations are present), several corners dog-eared - but overall a straight copy in a very attractive binding.

The dustjacket has significant edgewear, some minor loss at the ends of the spine, rubbing and wear to the folds, original price of 2.00 still present. A flawed, but still readable and possibly restorable copy of a very scarce book in dust jacket.
