The subtitle continues: "prepared for the press by Paul Allen; revised, and abridged by the omission of unimportant details; with an introduction and notes, by Archibald M'Vickar." Two volumes bound in dark green with gilt lettering on spine, embossed monogram and borders on front cover. Folding map preceding the title page in volume 1, neither volume includes any of the plates called for in the table of contents. Long appendix at end of volume 2 with a summary statement of the rivers, creeks, and most remarkable places. Small format, each measures 4 inches by 6 1/8 inches. Volume I: xliv, 371 pp; Volume II: x, 395 pp.
Condition: Very good (tear to folded map, title page for volume 1 is partially detached, previous owner's name in each volume, toning to the pages.)
