    Condition: Very good in dark blue cloth decorated with an embossed spider's web with gilt idol in the center, white lettering on front and spine (some shelfwear to the boards, corners slightly bumped, but a tight and clean copy)

Hardcover first edition - A classic and early spoof of the lost-race novels - after a shipwreck, Jimmy Smith, an American sales representative of the Eureka Manufacturing Company, brings 'improvements' to the idyllic island kingdom of Isola in the Antarctic. Chester is also the author of the Queen's Quorum title 'Get-Rich-Quick Wallingford.' Illustrated with a frontispiece and ten inserted plates with illustrations by F. Vaux Wilson. 394 pp.

    Condition: Very good in the original embossed blue-gray cloth, with gilt lettering on the front and spine (some shelfwear to edges of boards, front hinge starting, a few scattered marginal foxing spots, and discoloration on endpapers. Binding is sturdy, covers are attractive.

    Condition: Very near fine in a fine dustjacket (a new copy, but with a short tear to the bottom edge of the foldout illustration).
