This biography of the African explorer emphasizes his role in ending slavery in the British empire. Illustrated with 8 full color plates, map. Small volume measuring just 5 7/8 by 4 3/4 inches, 118 pages. Bound in gold cloth with gilt lettering and pasted on illustration on the front cover which repeats the frontispiece of the book.

    Condition: Wear to the edges of the board and the ends of the spine, rubbing and some soiling to the covers, toning to the pages, hinges starting but overall good condition. Numbers 9 6 -8 in pencil on front endpaper (date?).
