Hardcover first edition - 'A four-generation novel of the South' by this African American writer, set in Louisiana between 1842 and 1920. 346 pp. The dust jacket flap notes that more than 12 million copies of Yerby's books have been sold and he was apparently feeling comfortable enough to have a full page photograph on the back cover of the dj.

    Condition: Very good in a good only dust jacket (prev owner's name lined out on front endpaper, offsetting to endpapers and usual toning to the pages, chipping to top edge of dj, tear along side of spine. Original price of $3.50 still present)
