SIGNED hardcover first edition - The author's first book, a novel, but one which closely and movingly mirrors his experiences as an Australian soldier who was separated from his unit in Greece, betrayed to the German and incarcerated as a POW in Greece, Yugoslavia, Romania & Germany, where he served as a medic (he describes the protaganist as a "medical student who had failed in every examination he sat for" p.18 ). SIGNED on the title page and INSCRIBED on the front endpaper. 233 pp.

    Condition: Very good in very good dust jacket (toning to the pages and the back cover of the dj, offsetting to the endpapers) Uncommon, especially so signed and inscribed.
