  • Eden, Emily.
    THE SEMI-DETACHED HOUSE.

    Edition: First thus.

Boston: Houghton Mifflin, 1948. dj. Hardcover first edition - The Honorable Emily Eden was almost a contemporary of Jane Austen's (born in 1797) and this delightful novel is a closer reflection of those of Austen, than any others I have read - and yet, considering the fact that this was originally written in the 1830's there is a surprising modernity to it. Illustrated by Susanne Suba. 216 pp.

Condition: Only fair condition in an edgeworn dustjacket, with some loss of paper at the ends of the dj spine - the dj was taped to the endpapers, and remnants of the tape remain. Binding cracked just before the title page, dj is priced clipped. Still a difficult book to find in hardcover.
