This was described as "a loosely written story including character sketches, descriptions of nature, and philosophical ramblings." Several of her novels were made into silent films in the early 1920s, and in 1919 she won the first O. Henry Memorial Prize in 1919 for her World War I short story, 'England to America.' Illustrated by George W Hood. Full color frontispiece, with a printed tissue guard, and pale green decorative floral borders on every page. 190 pp plus 2 pp publisher's ads. Top edge gilt.
Condition: Very good in original olive green cloth with pasted on illustration on front cover, gilt lettering and decorations on spine (frontispiece is partially detached, tear to first page)
