SIGNED hardcover first edition - A novel of romance and adventure, the story of a young woman, the rebellious daughter of a large clan living in the Santa Clara Valley (where the author and her husband had a cattle ranch) who discovers the thrill and adventure of flying and becomes a pilot herself. Mitchell - wife of the state senator, Sanborn Young - was active in Republican politics and the comments she made in this copy which is INSCRIBED on the title page reflects that "For my dear Helen, bound to me by various letters - DAR and GOP - and the bond of ink which is stronger and thicker than water.." Dated in 1939. 344 pp.

Condition: Very good in green boards with gilt lettering to the front cover and spine (some dulling to the spine), no dust jacker.
