Sayers) one of the four "Queens of Crime" during the Golden Age of Detective Fiction and featuring Superintendent Roderick Alleyn. The body of a strangled young woman is found on the London docks, clutching an embarkation notice for the cargo ship "Cape Farewell" so Alleyn boards the ship as a passenger at Portsmouth, knowing the killer is among the nine other passengers or the crew. 272 pp.
