BEVERLY GRAY AT THE WORLD'S FAIR: The Beverly Gray College Mystery Series #6.
Edition: First edition.
New York: A. L. Burt, (1935). Hardcover first edition - After Lois leaves for Paris, Beverly, Connie and Lenora travel to Chicago to see the World's Fair - the Internation Exposition held from 1933-1934 - where they have many adventures - including helping to solve a murder they witnessed. When this series was taken over by Grosset and Dunlap in 1938, this title was dropped because it was felt that it was too easily dated and because of possible confusion with the coming New York World's Fair, making this the most difficult to find of this series, and one of the scarcest of all girls series books, as well as causing confusion i the numbering of the series and in the loss of continuity in the story line. Glossy frontispiece, lists to self on copyright page, blue and white Chadwick Hall endpapers. Top edge tinted dark blue. 250 pp.
Condition: Very good in gray cloth with black lettering - some toning to the spine, a bit of fraying to the ends of the spine, but overall a straight, tight and clean copy. Small bookstore stamp (Gardner's Book Shop in Stockton) on rear endpaper.
