THE SORELY TRYING DAY.
Edition: Early printing.
New York: Harper & Row, (1964) dj. Hardcover - A classic children's book - one which illustrates the idea that "actions must have consequences." After a long day at work, Father just wants to sit down and put his feet up - but instead he finds his whole household in an uproar. As father tries to sort things out, one child blames the next and on down the line until everyone is implicated, even the cat and the dog and the little mouse - but when each admits his share, harmony is restored. Illustrated by Lillian Hoban with black and white drawings. Unpaginated, slightly oversized format.
Condition: Near fine in illustrated orange boards with a black cloth spine in a poor dust jacket (price-clipped, one large piece from the middle of the back cover of the dj has been torn out leaving the dj in 2 pieces plus several tears to the dj - however a new archival cover holds it all together quite well)
