In 1906-1910 and again in 1915, he crossed the trail by automobile as he worked to help erect monuments to the wagon train pioneers. Illustrated with 20 drawings, most full-page, and some on glossy paper. The verso of the rather uncommon dust jacket contains a larger map of the route. SIGNED by Meeker on front free endpaper. Includes several pages on the work of the Oregon Trail Memorial Association and a one page list of Meeker's other works. 287 pp.
