The story of a young girl, the ward of a great pianist and a jealous woman, whom she called "Tante, " this was a best-selling novel at the time - number 9 in 1912 according to the NY Times. Basis for the 1919 film "The Impossible Woman." Vintage novel attractively bound in red cloth with a black embossed flower design and gold stamping on the front cover and spine. 437 pp plus 1 pp list of other books by Sedgwick.
Condition: Very good condition (some spine slant) While not a scarce book, it is relatively uncommon in the first edition.
