THE GRASS DANCER.
Edition: Advance Reading Copy (trade paperback format. )
New York: Putnam, 1994. First edition - First novel by this Native American author , set on a Sioux reservation in North Dakota. Pen/Hemingway Award Winner; Nominee for the National Book Award. Praised by Amy Tan, Louise Erdrich and Alice Hoffman in words like, "astonishing" "pure & Potent magic" "a debut stunning ..extraordinary." This advance issue had two different cover formats: this is the one which states 'uncorrected proof for limited distribution' and has a summary of the plot, rather than the blurbs which appear on the other (and on the dustjacket.). This copy also has a different title page, and a trimmed text block, and is printed on whiter but thinner paper. Presumably this issue takes precedence in terms of priority.
Condition: Fine in stiff illustrated wrappers.
